Hi there! We are a camping family of four living in southeast lower Michigan. Both my wife and I grew up camping with our families and are continuing the activity.

We started out while dating in a small tent. We camped around Michigan and took a few trips to West Virginia for some whitewater rafting fun. Tent camping was a great way to get out and do things with our friends and we always had a blast.

In 1994 we married, bought a house and settled down. We took a few more trips with the tent. Then my daughter Jacklyn was born on November 24th, 1997 and the tent became a bit too small. That's when we decided to buy a pop-up. We purchased a 1998 Rockwood 2308. The three of us camped the first year and had tons of fun. Next came Lauren. She was born on June 9th of 2000. Her first trip in the pop up was to Silver lake and she was only 12 weeks old. She seemed to fit right in and enjoy camping just as much as we do.

After 4 years in the pop up we decided to get a travel trailer and started looking at the RV shows. We fell in love with a 2003 Jayco Kiwi 23B. A lightweight hybrid trailer with fold out beds. The perfect combination between travel trailer and pop up. The biggest advantage of this type of trailer is the open useable floor space. We have been camping in it since October of 2002 and are continuing to have fun.

Occasionally we bring the family pet with us. His name is Sonic and he is a 10 year old, medium sized, cocker spaniel who weighs almost 40 lbs. He loves attention and really enjoys camping, then again dogs love going and doing just about anything. When the weather looks questionable we leave him with grandma & grandpa. There's nothing worse than a wet, muddy dog inside a trailer. We also leave him behind on trips that involve activities away from the campsite. A good camper never leaves their pet un-attended. (sorry Sonic)

Camping has turned into a great family adventure. We enjoy spending time in the great outdoors and exploring Michigan's splendor. The girls just love camping and are learning many new things and meeting many friends along the way. Bridgett and I love watching it all take place.
