1999 - Rockwood Premier 2308

We purchased our pop up at the Novi Camper Show from Vicars Trailer Sales in March of 1999. A pop up made perfect sense. At 2032 lbs. and 1006 lbs. of additional cargo they are easy to tow and their size make em easy to store. Fully loaded for under $8000 plus tax you get a lot of bang for your buck. We picked the Rockwood Premier Series model 2308 over other pop up campers because of many things. But the open floor plan and the amount of storage space in the Rockwood really caught our eye and at 23 feet fully open there was plenty of room for the whole family.

We spent 92 days camping in the pop up over the last 4 years. A total of 25 trips and 5,733 miles of fun. Throughout the entire time we only had one problems with our trailer. That was when I hit a pothole that caused the suspension to drop and catch a wire that powered the electric brakes. The dealer fixed that under warranty and there were no other problems after that.

We had plenty of fun camping with our Rockwood, but in 2002 we decided we needed something with a little more room and a bathroom. We decided on a Kiwi hybrid and put our Rockwood up for sale. In October we sold it to a very nice family who lives nearby. I know they will take care of it and get plenty of fun out of it for many more years.

Looking back....

Our Rockwood was a great camper. It provided us with plenty of room for a family of four. There was enough storage space for all our stuff and the cassette potty made those midnight runs allot more convenient. I am sad to see it go, but I know the new owners will find it to be the perfect fun-mobile for many years. =)

Here are a few things we should of added on to the Rockwood:
- Dual LP tanks with changeover. It stinks when you run out of propane in the middle of the night.
- Air conditioning? There have been about 6 weekends in 4 years we wish we had it.

Things we couldn't live without:
- Furnace and heater fan. They definitely allow you to get a few more trips in.
- Front Storage Compartment. Almost all of our gear went in there.
- Hot Water Tank. It's very nice not having to boil your water for dishes.

Something we think we wasted money on:
- Battery, Box & Charger. We never went remote camping.
