Has anyone camped at the Pickney Rec Area? I would like to know what the lake there is like. We have to have water when were camping, but I'm very picky about the lake. We are close to Detroit Metro Airport and we are trying to find somewhere within an hour or so to camp. Any suggestions??

Never been to Pickney, so no help there. Try Brighton Rec Area, Waterloo Rec Area or Hayes SP. They should all be about an hour from you.

Also, Maumee Bay State Park in Ohio is close to Detroit. I camped there and drove up for a game at the Joe Louis Arena.
