Jayco weather stripping ????

11 posts in this topic

Maybe some one here can help.

I am looking for a place to buy the weatherstripping that runs inside of the aluminum channel along the bottom edge of the roof box. My local store does not have it and told me to try online.[banghead] Anyone know where I can get it? i started the roof repairs over the weekend and need to get it to finish.[T]

Walt, thanks for the link, i will check it out there. Is it called weatherstripping? Or is it some other name that I am not calling it? My father in Law gave us a 1981 Jayco Jaythrush 10. It is in wonderful shape inside, the outside needs the verticals on the roof box replaced (The wood) and some lights replaced. Nothing to major. If I can not find this seal, I will have to find another way to keep water out during towing.

You may also want to try popupparts.com. I think most dealers refer to it simply as rubber roof seal?

Not sure why you are having trouble. It is a common seal and not particular to any one brand if it is the vinyl screw cover that I think you are talking about.

Depending on what seal you are talking about. The seal that goes around on the roof can be specific to the brand. I believe Jayco has two types of seals depending on the year and model. It cost around .40 a foot. Yes - Pop-Up Parts can get the seal. However it is not listed in the store so you need to call or email with your trailer information and I can get you a price.

It is the seal around the bottom of the roof box that seals the camper from moisture when the roof box is lowered and clamped. I have checked with local rv stores and ahve taken a sample of it in. They said, they do not know which one it is and can not order it. I can fix the roof and in the process of doing it. If I can not get the seal I need it is worthless to continue with the roof repair.

What about the weather strip that runs along the center seam on the top of the camper? My Jayco 1207 is leaking like a sieve and I don't think more caulking will help.

If you have AC it may be the gasket for the AC that has failed. <$20.00 on Amazon

May be too late on this reply, but butyl tape is what is used for sealing under roof edges and center seams. On that center strip, I'd use EternaBond and seal it up forever!
