Free camping at KOA

Hi, I know this is kind of late in the season but I have a coupon for 2 free nights at any one of the 7 Wisconsin KOA's. I won it at the Madison RV last February. We thought we would be able to use it, but we won't be. If anyone would like it it's good to the end of this camping season. Just drop me an e-mail at LBereswill@verizon.net with your address and I'll mail it to you. Our last camping weekend is the first weekend in October in Eagle River for the Cranberry Festival.

What sites do you recommend? Pics?
We usually camp state parks, are these county parks similar?
Thanks, Jrfamily

Tunnel Trail Campground

Does anyone have site recommendations for this campground? I stayed here about 15 years ago and now that the kids are into their bikes, I think I might want to head up that way again. What I do remember is that the sites are rather small and do not provide much in terms of privacy. Some are always better than others though. If you have any that you like in particular please share. Thanks

We are going to take our camper out for the first time on Memorial weekend. We made reservations around Eagle River. Is that too far north for this early in the season? Any advice on what to see up there? Thanks.

We had not planned on camping on memorial day weekend but some people we know will be at devils lake for the weekend. Obviously devils lake is full at this last minute. Does any know of another campground in the area within 30 minutes of devils lake. Dont need hookups and not to fussy about what it looks like , we would be at devils lake most of the time. thanks neil

Hi All-

I went to Lake Kegonsa park on Sat with the kids. The park is closed, but we were able to ride bikes/walk mark sites. There were a few other people doing the same thing. I did not realize how much work needs to be done before the park opens (down trees and general clean up). I really have the camping itch now!

LBZ

Rocky Arbor State Park

Has anyone here camped at Rocky Arbor State Park? This last weekend we were in Wisconsin Dells for the Wisconsin bowhunters convention (my wife works for them, doing their magazine) and I took a ride over to look at the campground on Saturday. Looks like a nice campground but the freeway noise is rather loud in the higher number sites which are closest to the freeway. Beautiful road going to the campground through the rock formations before going up the hill to the campground. Lots of nice campsites in the campground. I have not been to this park since 1972 and am not sure if there was even a campground there at that time, we were in Wisconsin Dells for the day and just went to the park for a picnic at the time.
